July 9th  

Opening Ceremonies – Chief Willie Charlie and Sasquatch Tours Cultural Performance.  12 Noon, Main Beach Stage.

Drum Demonstration – Darren Charlie of Sasquatch Drums, 1pm – 3pm.  Pre-register for Sunday Drum Workshop.

July 10th  

Drum Workshop – Join Darren Charlie of Sasquatch Drums to make your own hand drum, $35, $50, $80.

Ranger Station Art Gallery – "The Beating Heart: Sts’ailes Art Show & Sale”

Opening Reception July 7th at 7pm.

Special "Theme Days”:

Sunday July 10 – Rocky LaRock, Sts’ailes Arts.  10am – Slide Show of his works.  2pm – Carving demonstration. 

Wednesdays, July 13, 20, 27 –Nelson Leon’s Traditional Service.  July 13: 10am – noon, Mini Drums,  and 2 – 4pm, Drum Sticks. July 20: 10am – noon, Dream Catchers and also  1pm – 3pm.  July 27: 10am – noon and 1 – 3pm, Medicine Bags.   All make your own art are $10 each.

Saturday July 23 – George Pennier, 1pm – 3pm.  Carving Demo and Art Talk.

Saturday July 30th – Cedar!, 1pm - 4pm.  Various cedar bark and cedar root weavers will demonstrate.  Make your own cedar bracelet for $15. 

 

Ranger Station Public Art Gallery

 

This local art gallery situated on the shores of Harrison Lake features monthly shows by area artists.  Weaving, pottery, paintings, photography, carvings and more.  Open 7 days a week 10 - 4 pm.  98 Rockwell Drive, Harrison Hot Springs.  604-796-2723

Start Location:  We have a new start location for this year’s event at the corner of Cameron and McCallum Road (on the way to the Agassiz Speedway).  Cameron is just off the Lougheed Highway, and McCallum runs parallel to the Lougheed Highway #7.

Eagles Before and After Dinner with David Hancock

Biologist, author and lecturer is known world-wide from his Hancock Wildlife Foundation live cams in bald eagle nests and at other wildlife locations -- including looking at the salmon of the Sts'ailes. He is also Director on the Fraser Valley Bald Eagle Festival group that annually hosts the eagle festival on the Harrison River complex which now coordinates this festival with the Sts'ailes and Hancock Wildlife Foundation.  Join David at Sasquatch Crossing Eco Lodge at 3pm, walk to eagle viewing on site, enjoy dinner at 5pm, with a special eagle and salmon presentation and discussion to follow.  Friday November 19, 2011.  $45/pp. for Registered SCEL Overnight Guests; $65/pp for the evening event only. Official Activity Site.  Sts’ailes First Nation artists - make and take activities, lunch stop including cultural welcome at Noon, and walking tours by donation.  Tours depart from 10 am on the hour, with a break between Noon and 1pm.  Last walking tour at 2pm.
